Synchron's
Beginnings
The company, founded over 30 years ago in Cape
Town, South Africa, has grown to be one of the largest importers of
vinyl materials used in the manufacture of various kinds of indoor
and outdoor signage.
Operating from premises
in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban and Port Elizabeth with a staff
of experienced and knowledgeable consultants representing a number of
the world's leading manufacturers, Synchron is in the unique
position of being able to offer the most comprehensive range of
materials. Competitively priced and backed by full manufacturers'
guarantees with access to a sophisticated, consulting laboratory
facility, customers have come to rely on Synchron as a value-added
partner in their businesses rather than just a product or material
supplier.
Synchron Today
Synchron represents a number of the world's leading manufacturers including Kurz who are the leading distributors for Security as well as Decorative Foils. Synchron also represents MACtac, FLEXcon, Ferrari, American Decal and Airex, who are all world leaders manufacturing high-quality and a wide range of specialised materials for Synchron.
Capable of being screen printed, computer cut or digitally printed, these materials are known for their quality and reliability.
The same can be said for our range of self adhesive, reflective material used to manufacture road signs and car licence plates which is supplied by American Decal.
Airex, Switzerland, manufactures hi-density PVC foam board which is used for exhibition stands, fittings for yachts and signage etc. The board is notable for its light weight wearability and the fact that it is non-flamable.
Service Excellence
The directors and staff of Synchron have developed the
company in order to achieve international levels of service
excellence. This they believe will lead to the company continuing to
grow steadily which should further entrench their position as the
dominant players in the various local markets in which they
operate.
Synchron operates in all
the large commercial and industrial centres in South Africa, i.e.
Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban and Port Elizabeth. Synchron has
offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban, with agents in Port
Elizabeth and sub-agents in more outlying areas. The company has just under 50
employees.
The first and only
company in the industry to be ISO 9001:2008 rated, Synchron continues to
strive to improve service levels.
Underlying the service
delivery, is a significant investment in computer software for
better stock accuracy and management.
Since the lifting of
sanctions, more and more contact is being made with potential
customers in other African states as far afield as Tanzania, Malawi
as well as Zimbabwe, Botswana, Ghana and the Indian Ocean
Islands.
The company has five main
operating divisions that make use of common services such as
finance, shipping, conversion and storage, but each retains a large
degree of operating independence and accountability.
Most material is shipped
(or airfreighted) into Cape Town in containers where the company's
head office is located. Here it is converted and re-packaged, if
necessary, before being despatched to the branches or directly to
customers all over the country.
